Family Vacation

Our little family of four packed up and headed to South Padre Island, TX, for a family vacation. We rented a condo and spent three full days on the beach. I was having a hard time imaging a beach in TX that would be comparable to the beaches of FL. I was pleasantly suprised, though. The beach was nice, and since kiddos were in school, it was not crowded at all!

Ann Alyse and Avery enjoyed it in very different ways. Avery slept in her little chair everytime we hit the sand. Ann Alyse loved digging in the sand, burying Daddy's feet, and playing in the water. They both, however, loved the swimming pool. Ann Alyse swam by herself with her little floaties and Avery sat up in her ladybug float. We went on a big boat one day and watched dolphins playing. Then the next afternoon, while at the beach, saw more dolphins playing just a few yards from where we were swimming.

The drive there and back was a little rough with two little ones, but all in all, we had lots of fun. We'll have to see, though, if FL will be in the picture next year!
