Fun in Ft. Worth!

Avery fit just right in the Elmo chair!

Ann Alyse loved the cake and ice cream - just like Mama!

Aunt "Darsees" and Uncle "Days" - as enunciated by Ann Alyse!

Last weekend we loaded up the suburban and traveled the "short" 4 hours to Ft. Worth to visit family and friends. I say short with a grimace because what should have taken 4 hours turned into 7 1/2 hours! Yeah, no kidding! We decided to stop off in the Woodlands on our way to do some shoe shopping for Ann Alyse. One detail we forgot was that it was tax-free weekend in TX. BIG mistake! Everyone was out school shopping. I will NOT be shopping tax-free weekend again until my children have children! HA!
So, we got on our way again and made it to Madisonville and stopped to eat a late lunch. As we were finishing up, the bottom fell out! Lee was forced to run to the car and drive it as close to the door as possible. He ran Ann Alyse in to the nearest door, threw the diaper bag in and then Avery and I jumped in quickly. It took us a little while to get dried off before we took off again. It rained and it poured on us for quite a while. We did, however, make it to our destination before the day was done!

We were able to see my great Aunt Doris and Uncle Dave. We stayed at their home in Flowermound. Ann Alyse got her own bedroom and had so much fun roaming around and playing with all the toys. Avery was not neglected...she got lots of sweet hugs and kisses all weekend long!

We also got to see my best friend, Andrea, her hubby, Gabe, and their 2 year old daughter, Katie. It was Katie's 2nd birthday and Gabe's 30th! They share a birthday and we got to celebrate both with them. Katie had a fun Elmo party and Gabe had a fun surprise pool party (as in a pool table, not a swimming pool!). We went to church with them on Sunday, out to eat at Chili's afterwards, then back in the car to come home. This time we made it in 4 1/2 hours - now that was more like it!

Just Keep Swimming!

Ann Alyse in her ladybug!
Ann Alyse and Daddy!

Wow, I'm really high!

Ann Alyse and Avery went to Lee's parents' house to swim last week. Well, Ann Alyse swam and Avery watched from the sidelines since we don't have a bathing suit for her yet. Ann Alyse did really well and had so much fun with her daddy in the big pool. She loves laying back in the bath tub and "floating" on her back and swimming on her belly. She did pretty good floating with Daddy holding on to her, but she really loved getting into her ladybug and getting to kick and move by herself!

Growin' up too Fast!

Our girls are growing up just a little too fast. The past few days have been big days for both of our girls. Avery started rolling over well. She has rolled over some in the past month, but she's really getting the hang of it now. Our new task is to convince her that she doesn't have to do it at night when it's sleepy time! She loves talking and blowing bubbles, too. She started eating a little bit of rice cereal and gulps it down just like her big sister used to do! I can't get enough in her before she's panting for more!

Ann Alyse discovered that she has a new tooth coming in! She showed me when she woke up from her nap and was so excited! This makes her third 2 year molar - one to go! She also wore pig tails for the first time this weekend - her hair is just now long enough to wear a pony tail and pig tails. Boy is she miss priss. She'll look in the mirron and turn back and forth to look at herself and just smile and giggle!

Little Flower Girl

Ann Alyse was the flower girl in her Uncle Coleman and Aunt Jennifer's wedding on July 21. She was so beautiful in her flower girl dress. She actually kept her bow in the whole day, too! At the end of the reception, when Coleman and Jennifer were running to the Limo, we all threw rose petals. After they sped off to their honeymoon, Ann Alyse enjoyed playing in the rose petals, throwing them up in the air and having them land in her hair! By the way, for those who are wondering...yes, it's another Jennifer Philley in the same family!

I finally did it!

Ok, I have finally joined the rest of the world and started a blog for our family. Since I really have very few precious moments of quiet, this will probably not be updated very frequently. However, I will try to post up to date pictures so our family can see our growing girls!
